Light of Day Acrylic painting with texture-mix elements and newspaper on paper
This piece was my first legitimate painting towards my FMP, commencing in the studio space expansing over 3 days in total I think. It was a bit stressful at first as the colours seemed to refine themselves to dull violets and warm browned orange (which can be understood as a problem with my own pallete) and I had to exercise my grip with the paintbrush to complete the figure in moderate realism.
Overall I think that the colours and hues suit the mood of the piece, which was a reproduction of the former collage piece [link] 'Light of Day'. This piece was a breakthrough of a new style of working and image creation and more generally in concept generation. It was originally inspired by Une Semaine de Bonté by Max Ernst.
I would like to know what you think of this piece. It has powerful surrealistic potential and I am very pleased with the outcome
